Sometimes the most important journeys begin without us even noticing.
GIUMA Venezia began like this: two sisters, a passion for fine materials, and a coat that simply didn’t exist anywhere.
In stores, the options were all the same. Rigid lines, little personality, quality far from the idea of elegance we had in mind.
So we did what you do when something doesn’t exist: we created it.
We wanted it soft, enveloping, in wool and cashmere.
A garment able to follow the body naturally, to enhance femininity without constraining it. An elegance that isn’t constructed, but authentic.
That coat was the beginning of everything.
From the lagoon to the origins of cashmere
At first, production was a small artisanal miracle.
A tailor’s workshop in the province of Venice crafted each model by hand, while fine yarns from Mongolia arrived from Florence.
The project grew. Demand increased.
And we had one priority: never compromise on quality.
An almost Venetian weave—made of encounters, coincidences and crossing paths—reshaped our trajectory.
A natural bridge to the East led us back to the origins of our materials.
We flew to Mongolia, where we personally selected our seamstresses and built a network of workshops dedicated exclusively to GIUMA.
Today, over thirty craftswomen work on each piece made to order, trained in Italian manufacturing techniques and coordinated through an ongoing dialogue between Venice and Asia.
They are not just manufacturers.
They are artisanal partners.
Raw material as an identity choice
We create coats in wool and cashmere, furs and garments in selected leather.
Our yarns come from the areas best suited to cashmere production.
The hides—by-products of the food industry—are processed by trusted tanneries renowned for the excellence of their techniques.
Every material is chosen for a precise reason: durability, hand feel, structure, and how it ages over time.
We don’t create seasonal pieces.
We create garments meant to stay in your wardrobe.
The design is created in Italy, in our studio, where lines, proportions, and fit are studied with meticulous care. The goal is just one: an elegance that stands the test of time.

From the very beginning we chose a direct approach: 100% online, with no intermediaries.
This allows us to invest in the quality of raw materials and craftsmanship, while maintaining an authentic relationship with those who choose GIUMA.
